So in a previous thread, I fried my Program DN/UP jack permanently with a static shock. Rather than pay $1140 for a new mainboard, I decided to buy a new NS3 and prep the previous one for sale with this one missing feature (which I do need for our upcoming album release show). My previous NS3 was bought at launch, and the latest one is the new 2020 Rev B model. Upon receiving the new one I could immediately tell there was a difference in the feel of the SW waterfall keybed. The new one was noticeably stiffer and harder to play. The buttons on the Rev B were also stiffer, which I actually liked. After discovering a thread from a few months ago where someone had the same issue with a new NE6, it sounds like Fatar has been using very slightly stiffer springs in the new action. So I decided that I had the opportunity now or never to swap all 73 springs.
Long story short, the new keybed feels just as good as the old one now and I'm pleased to say the swap went off without much difficulty. The springs in the pic below side by side show the new design on the left, the old on the right. They look pretty much identical. However, I noticed the older ones seemed a little oilier and I am wondering if the older Nord action was just better lubricated. Either way, here are some differences between the first run of NS3 and the latest. I guess the PSU doesn't have a steel cage around it anymore!

Re: NS3C Action Spring Swap - Rev A vs Rev B Pics
Thanks for the share! This E2/61 has nice light action. Those first springs were really accurate.I will be cleaning my rev1 NS3C soon.Dirty contact under low C.Noticed it was missing attacks on samples along with pianos.
The noisiest power supply here is the NS3C.I mean noise from humming transformer or whatever not audio. Can't hear the Hammond generator spinning though.Yep.a Ventilator will make the telltale mic'ing noises too .
Everything powered up on a wallwart is quieter than the Nord.Just sayin.....saw a Stage Compact someone had reoriented the keys to low E.......transpose city! Can't imagine playing bass with a low F.
