Hi Guys,

I've tried to make mainstage send programm Changes my nord electro for several hours now but i can't get it to work.
I can use the nord to control Mainstage, but i need it the other way around, controlling the nord with mainstage.

With the ios App TouchOSC the changes work without any problem.

When i change a patch in mainstage i see the nord's midi Led flashing but nothing else happens. I've tried it setting the program change in patch settings and also in channel strip setting. I am wondering why there are these two options and what happens if i use them both.
I tried both, external instrument and software instrument without success.

Any further ideas?

I am thinking of resetting the nord to factory settings, could this be worth a try?

I also already updated the firmware to the latest verison (2.52) but that also didn't help.

Do the sending and receiving channel match?

Thanks for the reply! What exactly do you mean by that?
On the nord i set global channel to 1 and external Keyboard to 16.
In mainstage i tried several options (All, channel 1, channel 16)

Fziegler means that if your global channel on the NE6 is 1, you need to send the midi message from Mainstage on channel 1. Did you turn on program (or control) change receive on the NE6? Check the manual to see how you can do that if needed.
And are you sending the correct program change message? See page 25 in the manual.

I don't think that you can send PC via the ExternKBD channel - your Electro will probably ignore it. So the sending MIDI channel of your software will have to match with the Global MIDI channel of your Electro. And System menu 12 - "PC" has to be on "receive" or "send/receive".

For the structure of your program change cf. p. 26 in the German manual. I'm not sure if you need the full set of commands if you remain within your bank.

For setting a MIDI path via Mainstage, you might find help in a dedicated forum. But if the Electro receives something (as you said), there should be only 2 problems left: channel, structure. I don't think that it will have to do anything with resetting your instrument.

Now that i have this running i am trying to control each instrument's volume from mainstage (with a midi controller keyboard attached to the Notebook). I figured out, that i can adjust all volumes at the same time with one knob (using "7 volume" midi command), but i could't find a way to adjust each volume level seprately. Is this even possible? When chosing "11 Expression" i can change the volume of all sounds mapped to the midi controller keyboard.

I don’t want to be rude. But if you would read the manual you would have found the overview of all the midi commands your electro is responding to.
Organ = 13
Piano = 34
Synth = 43
