Hi Steve,
Sorry for the late, and no, replies of recent. I've had a lot on my plate otherwise. Hence I am behind with the Nord and need to catch up asap...
Cheers,
Paul

Re: Decisions, decisions (Piano Library)
Time flies... had to sell my Stage 3 76HP in June or July 2019, for bills. Desperate times, desperate measures. Partly emergency house repair/plumbing crap, partly whatever else... argh. Haven't missed it much, though... what makes me so pissed about the Stage 3 was that it was simply bi-timbral. The Stage 2 EX was 6-part multitimbral. I cannot fathom why Nord would ever change that.
That said.. summer 2019, here's what I had in the unit (kept this under 1gb, as I thought about what I would do with only 1GB ram, as I was thinking of getting an Electro 6D 61 to replace the Stage 3 I had):
GRANDS
XL Velvet
M Lady D
M Imperial
M SG2
S Egrand3 Mono
UPRIGHTS
XL Bambino
M Rain
M Blue Swede
M Black
M Mellow
M Romantic
M Grand Upright
EPs
all of them with Wurly (not enhanced versions)
Haven't tried the White, as it was released after I had to sell my Stage 3.
Used to love the Amber, but found it bland after a while. Would probably enjoy it again, when I get a Nord again. Royal just never gelled with me, after a while... still don't like the Italian Grand, don't know why. Bright is just too bright... still don't dig the Silver Grand.
That's just where I left it off....
Hope all of you are safe and healthy out there!

Re: Decisions, decisions (Piano Library)
Wanted to follow up with this as no one has replied...
Recently came upon a YouTube video where a guy was talking about how the Stage 3 can do 6 parts multitimbral, through the Layer A and Layer B.
From my extensive research (and while I had a Stage 3 76HP), Layer A is one part, and Layer B is another. You can't split it 6 different ways (nor use 6 different midi channels). Am I still correct with this information? Thanks, all!

Re: Decisions, decisions (Piano Library)
It's different for MIDI and local use. You have 6 sound engines in 2 panels. I'm not sure if it's good to call them layer - they can be layered and split in up to 4 zones - every engine in its own way. But only if you play locally. Via MIDI, you can only address 2 parts: the panels; or use one panel locally, the other via MIDI; or use one engine via MIDI and the rest locally. As long as you want to play it, it's versatile. But not so much as a sound module.
Stage 3 Compact (Rev.B 2.1 - OS 2.60) - Kawai VPC1 / Yamaha CP33 - Hall of Fame & NeoVent2 - Behringer Flow-8 - K&M stands 18820+18811 / 18953+18952 - Samsung tablet with MobileSheetsPro & AirTurn Duo200 - QSC K8.2s / Fischer InEars

Re: Decisions, decisions (Piano Library)
appreciate your reply. Yeah, definitely an annoying feature limitation, from Stage 2 to Stage 3. Incredibly annoying, actually. Would be great to use as a sound module, especially with the new popularity of multi-channel step sequencers (Beatstep Pro, Keystep Pro, Novation SL MK3, Launchpad Pro MK3, etc)
