Hello,
I'm using the Stage 3 slaved to a sequencer. This sequencer sends midi data to a lot of instruments, the Stage 3 included. BUT in the case of the Stage 3, i want it accept just the notes, not the program changes. Problem is, i already turned off everything i could find about Program change on the Nord Stage : Midi / Extern menus and still, when i change the pattern on my sequencer from A01 to A02, for instance, the Stage 3 changes also its program. This is very annoying, as i want the Stage to use only one program accross the entire song but to achieve this i'm having to copy the same sound to a lot of programs. For instance, if my song has 10 patterns on my sequencer (A01 to A10), i need to make the first 10 programs on the Nord Stage 3 , to have the same sound.
Please help !
Thanks

Re: How to ignore program changes ?
Try to work without the Global channel: There is a bug that makes the Stage 3 always receive PC messages whether switched on or not: post138580.html Maybe you get what you want if you deactivate the Global MIDI channel and receive data on the Panel A/B MIDI channels.

Re: How to ignore program changes ?
Switching to Panels A and B MIDI channels is also what I did to make it ignore PC messages. The problem is that in this way there is no way whatsoever to receive PC messages... So, @discorules: if you really need to send PC to the NS3, you'll have to find a workaround, possibly tweaking the sequencer side of the system...

Re: How to ignore program changes ?
Another option might be to use a midi filter which is able to block the program change messages, like for example this one: https://www.thomann.de/gb/midi_solutions_event_processor_plus.htm?ref=intl&shp=eyJjb3VudHJ5IjoiZ2IiLCJjdXJyZW5jeSI6NCwibGFuZ3VhZ2UiOiJlbiJ9

Yeah but given the price, unless one needs it for other purposes, I'd wait a bit more and see if Clavia ever release the long awaited update...

"Hope is not a strategy" as I was told a couple of years ago by my boss

Well this works, but there's a price : it seems when you deactivate the Global Midi channel, the Stage stops to send the notes you play on its keyboard to the MIDI out...

No, this shouldn't be the case: notes messages are sent from any channel. What are your MIDI settings (Global, per-Panel, etc. etc.)?

Re: How to ignore program changes ?
The manual is your friend if you are interested in some MIDI questions. If you switch off Global MIDI, there is the Extern MIDI left to send MIDI notes. So you have to set the right channel for Extern.
