Hello, everyone!

I've recriated a new string section program from my old W30 (S550) and AKAI libraries. I named it "Mendelssohn Ensemble" as a tribute to Felix Mendelssohn, a German composer of the early Romantic period. Mendelssohn's compositions include symphonies, concertos and chamber music.
These days I have been dedicating a lot to restore my old keyboard sounds that not even floppy is used anymore. But I made several albums in the 1990s with just 1.44 of sample space on the W30. It was quite a challenge to get loops with samples of 0.8 seconds, or 0.5 seconds. The technique used was resampling, playing the notes (every 3 keys), recording on the Reaper and making the stereo, since the same originals were mono.
It is a very hard work, but pleasant. I am new here in the Forum and already downloaded several patches from here. Therefore, I want to contribute as I have done. There's more to come. Hope you like it.

Attack = 21 ms
Release = 313/368 ms
Add some reverb.

Please note: Don't worry about the Chamber and ensemble names. The sample is exactly the same, I just named it different.

Since I started working with the W30, I have been researching and experimenting string tones that really were "usable" for recording and stage. The originals ones sound very "thin" and, to make a base of strings in the music, it was necessary to make them more dense. The most real and natural way to obtain this sound is to mix them using the layers. The miraculous W30 (!!!! just 1.44 mb of sample space) allows two layers of sound per patch. I combined sounds from the factory, from other libraries and my own sounds sampled by me in the studio and obtained "new" tones. When I combined them with those from the Akai Library, the result was even better in my ears, since the AKAI samples were bigger and so were their loops alowwing more natural sounding. This way, I didn't miss any of the old sounds that I liked so much those days (90's). Now, I am recreating one by one, by resampling because the waves are too short and there is no way to simply combine them. I am sharing with the community so that everyone can enjoy the same sounds. I have more than 50 CDs for AKAI and more than 200 W30 diskettes. I'm trying to restore the sounds. Thanks to technology to our advantage, lol
