Hello everyone,
I have two questions and maybe there is someone who can give some advice on that.
first question:
I have a Nord Stage 3 and a Korg Kronos 2
I play in a couple of bands and i am happy with the setlist that is on the Kronos. Is it the best way to go from there? Make the Kronos (upper board / 61 keys in my setup) the masterkeyboard and do all the setup in the Kronos and let the Nord change to a program by that?....
Second question:
I am looking for the best way to make my own stage mix.... that goes to the frontsound when we are on a gig.... i use a small mixertje now but it has broken down.... a cheap one by Behringer..... i'm not really on a budget but the smallest mixertjes are made by Behringer and Yamaha as far as i know....
So maybe can give me advice on that.
Thanks in advance and wish you a ver happy and musical new year!
Marc

Re: 2 questions
I used to gig with a Stage 3 and a Kronos. You can set the Kronos to send a program change message to the Stage 3 using an EXT or EXT2 channel within a Kronos Combi to send the right program change to the NS3. This allows you to use the Kronos setlist to select patches on both keyboards.
I never bothered with a mixer - I usually routed the Kronos outputs via the Stage 3 Aux input, which mixes it with the Stage 3 output. I also used to use the Kronos audio inputs for guitar. If you're not using the Kronos audio inputs, you could mix the Stage 3 through the Kronos instead.

Re: 2 questions
Thanks a lot for your reply,
Think that should be the workflow. Making patches/programs on the NS3 and trigger them within the combi of the Kronos.
I shall look into the possibility to use the inputs/outputs of the Kronos to function as somekind of mixer, means less gear to cary arround....
Thanks again and best wishes,
Marc

Re: 2 questions
I have also used both live.
For me the Kronos inputs were a bit too hot for the Nord Stage, and having 2 gain knobs on the kronos inputs was a bit fiddly on gigs, I found it to be a better signal path and simpler to play the kronos audio through the Nord Stage.
Maybe try playing the audio one way then the other to see which is best for you, before making up lots of patch change info etc. Get the sound right 1st.

If you want a good mixer - look at Radial Pro Key Largo:

when I play with an IN EARS band...I leave the Keylargo at home and use the same method as hoopyfrood to simplify matters - and run the NS3 output into this piece that provides me a headphone mix and direct box type feed to the house mix:

Re: 2 questions
I use the Rolls as well and route other boards via the NS3 input also. The Rolls also has an input for the monitor mix from the main mixer as well as a mic input, so it's quite useful for in ear playing.Mr. Marko wrote:If you want a good mixer - look at Radial Pro Key Largo:

The Key Largo is probably the last personal mixer I'll ever need to buy. It's that good.
I think I have gear issues ....

Thanks a lot for that advice!
Gonna check out the Largo, looks a pretty fine solution.
