Hi everyone,
I'm trying to sort out which computer to buy to compliment my electro 6. I want to do soke recording (likely adding keyboard parts to others' recordings), and potentially have it ready for live stage work (using it paired with a midi keyboard to add sounds to my live performance rig).
Those that I work with have MacBooks, so I was thinking I should get the same, and I was looking at the MacBook pro 13" with 2.0GHz quad-core Intel Core i5, 16GB of 3733MHz LPDDR4X onboard memory and 1TB SSD1.
Is this too much? Not enough? Just right?
Thank you all for reading and for your advice. Happy new year.

Re: MacBook for Electro 6
Buying an Intel MacBook at this point is like buying a horse-drawn buggy in 1920.
It really doesn’t make sense.
Even if your apps are not yet M1-native, the lowly MacBook Air will run circles around that machine.
And it will be supported for many more years.

Hi,
I think the config of the MacBook will do the job, and leaves some room for future higher workloads.
By the way, you have posted the same question in another section of this forum, it’s not necessary to do it twice

Do you know how stupid I feel, I bought the intel MBP 2 months ago..... eh, I still find it to be quite capable if we don't compare it to the M1.analogika wrote:Buying an Intel MacBook at this point is like buying a horse-drawn buggy in 1920.
