Re: Let's do the Rhodes poll.
Yeah fantastic solo, great transition in and out of the solo too. MkV has always been my go to Rhodes sample. I tried a lot of the others, but I keep coming back to it. There's something simple and genuine about it that I can't find in the other samples, and its EQ works as it is for me.

... and it’s the old version there, not the enhanced. For me the enhanced version sounds a bit murkey and is not as playable as the older sample. As CountFosco wrote, there‘s something simple and genuine about it... it’s not the classic „nice“-sounding Rhodes but it has much presence and bite.

Re: Let's do the Rhodes poll.
Wouldn‘t it be interesting to know, if the new Stockholm Rhodes can compete with the Nefertiti?

Where is EP9 Stockholm from the list?

This is an older poll. Maybe someone can add it?
Re: Let's do the Rhodes poll.
I thought I'd really be liking the Stockholm but find myself going back to Nefertiti and occasionally my old favorite Sparkletop. My real favorites are my Keyscape EPs excellent variety and love they have Vintage Vibe samples.

Hi all!
I would like to chime in. After 2 weeks of playing with my NE6, I've noticed I always go for the sparkle top 90% of the time. I love its versatility, fullness, and attack. Cuts through the mix and very expressive as well. My playing environment is mostly with my cover band that can get quite loud. I will be exploring more but for now, from my experience on stage, Sparkletop works for me.

The Sparkle Top has been one of my favourite Nord Rhodes for the last few years. It's a really good sample that sounds authentic, stands out and doesn't get on your nerves even at high volumes and velocities. But it's a very special 60s rhodes that sounds a bit like a vibraphone and not like the typical rhodes sound from the 70s. During further performances in the last weeks, the Stockholm EP has convinced me very much. With a little treble and mids at 8khz, very little in the Nord Electro 5, a little more in the Nord Stage 2 (obviously sounds a bit duller), it's really a great 70s Rhodes sound. Very Hancock-like.

I like Stockholm and Sparkletop the most. The bright tines is also useful for some applications. Between those 3 I'd be content.

I voted Nefertiti, but was unaware of Stockholm so I'll have to give that a try!
Too bad we can't also vote for 2nd best, which I think would be Sparkletop for me.
