I once had a Roland Xp80 and there is a fenomenal detuned (honky tonky) piano.
Would like to have that sample...
So if somebody does have it....?
Lots of thanks in advance

Which Nord(s) do you own? The Nord Piano Library has some nice sounds like this with benefits from loading into the piano section of many Nords.

Or, try using a trebly acoustic piano sample and adding some chorus and reverb

Fred, I tested that web site - but what can you do with a single honky tonk piano sample? Don't understand what this is for. How much effort to make a piano out of that - a randomly detuned one! And it will only sound right in a middle range.
Most sounds seem to be single ones - so I guess, the site is good for sound effects, but not instruments.

@FZiegler, you're correct, those are single sample and not that useful for EPs and Pianos.
But I don't believe you can do much anyhow with those types of sound with the single-layer sampling engine of the Nord.
While people may have the XP80 Honky Tonk piano multisampled files, another exploration path could be to multi-sample a VST like Saloon :

Best is indeed to tweak the Pianos found in the Nord Library.

Quick try with an SF2 Honky Tonk sound, converted with the NSE.
Don't have the NS2 at hand to make an MP3. Tell me what you think ?

Hi Cookie! Thanks very much. I am happy with your sample project!
I am new with Nord.
Would you (or someone els) please be so kind to explain me this procedure?
Where did you find the sf2 samples and how did you convert them to nsmp?
Thanks a lot!

Hi Cookie,
Thanks for the Honky Tonk piano!
Maybe you have time to anwer my three questions.
1. Ho did you convert the file from the sf2?
2. Where did you find the honky tonk sf2 file?
3. I have loaded it in my nord electro 6 and it sounds great and funny, but it does not respond on touch dynamics. Is it changable and how do i do that?
Thanks!
Ivar

Re: Searching for detuned honky tonky Roland XP80 piano
Hi Ivar,
regarding your 1st question: I think that Cookie did not convert the SF2 file, I don't know any software which is able to convert into Nord sample formats. The only way to achieve this is to re-sample the original SF2 file into wave files, for example with SampleRobot which provides a kind of automated way to re-sample such sounds, and create a Nord sample file from the wave files after that by using the Nord Sample Editor. The restriction is that samples created by the Nord Sample Editor are single velocity samples only, and that's the answer to your 3rd question - it means that you have to chose a fixed velocity level when re-sampling the SF2 file, and you will have the sound at this velocity level available only after that so touch dynamics are without effect on .nsmp and .nsmp3 samples.
The Nords do support multi velocity samples for the piano section only, the file name extension of these samples is .npno (not .nsmp or .nsmp3). Unfortunately there is no way to create a Nord piano sample by yourself, the only one who can do this is Nord since they keep the format of the piano samples as a secret ....
