Overall volume with pedal

Postby NORD_Hammond » 05 Oct 2020, 20:57

Hi folks,
how can I change the OVERALL volume (2X Synth in 2 patches and Piano) by use of the Yamaha FC-7 on the Stage3 ?
I'm a bit stuck here.
Thanks for any help!

Go to the system menu page 12 and change it from swell to volume.

Or you do it with a per-program decision via morphs - in that case you are more flexible, but would have to set morphs for all active sound engines one by one if you wish an overall volume decrease.

I'm not sure what will happen to the organ sound if you set the swell pedal to control overall volume: Does it still change the sound character while increasing/decreasing volume or not?

No.

And it also kills any reverb tail on the sounds, which is why I quickly abandoned using the main volume and switched to morphing the section gains.

The swell is so useful for organ, and the control pedal so useful for morph, it seems a shame to waste either of them for a simple master voume control. If that's what you need, you can just put an analog volume pedal on the outputs (bonus, you won't have to program anything, just plug it in and go). The Boss FV-30L or FV-500L would be good choices.

@anotherscott: this is for just one song only and hence no need for any morph or organ swell, let alone another pedal!

Thanks Bjosko! Solved my "problem".
