It takes like forever to backup/restore my fully loaded NE5D. It takes like an hour or so. And it's only 1.3GB! To my knowledge it has always been this slow. Is this the same with your Nords? Are the newer Nords (NE6, NS3) faster with file/sample transfer? Or is there something wrong with my Nord, my computer or me?
The type of Flash memory used in the Nord is built for real-time read speeds similar to RAM speeds (so that sounds don’t need to be delayed by loading them into RAM before you can play them). The downside is SLOOOOOOOOW write speeds.
An Hour is pretty extreme, but it’s about in the right ballpark.
I found a workaround with backups:
I keep the samples and pianos I use, in a separate folder and only transfer programs when ever I don't need to transfer samples/pianos. I also built up a minimalist emergency set of small pianos in case i need to do a quick restore.

I was afraid there would be nothing wrong with my Electro
But I am curious if transfer times improved with the hardware of Stage 3. Or do they have the same type of RAM, only more? So a full backup for NS3 takes over 2 hours?
I noticed a dramatic difference when backing up my NE6 this week. I thought it was maybe an update to Windows 10 since there has not been a recent update to the NE6 OS. Took about 30 minutes for a backup to the PC.
