Can anyone recommend a midi to lightning din cable for NE3 to iPad? I’ve seen some where the midi cable is 8 pins, and the NE3 has a 5 pin midi output. Any help would be very appreciated, thanks!

To connect the NE3 to an iPad you have basically 2 ways
a) buy a Lightning to USB adapter (better if Apple official and with recharge port) + a Class Compliant MIDI USB interface (or cable, example Roland UM One)
b) buy an iPad specific MIDI Interface (or dock), for example https://www.ikmultimedia.com/products/irigmidi2/

Right! MIDI BT is actually a 3rd option (I forgot about that, although I have a MD-BT 01 myself

Not exactly a direct connection, but the iConnectMidi interfaces do the job very wel too!
