Re: Expansion card for nord lead 2
I searched Nord Lead 2 and only a few results.

Uhm... actually even going on Google or Ebay I see only bigger sizes available nowadays (smallest I find is 256Kb) ...

Re: Expansion card for nord lead 2
Thanks. I talked to Pablo and found out elsewhere I can use a bigger size 256kb but won't be able to use it all. He recommends I use the replaceable batter SRAM.
I assume I use the 16bit version.
Would S65256-16 work on this page https://www.amtron.com/sram.htm#8-bit_o ... _attribute ?

Re: Expansion card for nord lead 2
Assuming that Pablo is following this thread...
What if one formats/partitions an oversized PCMIA card, so that the first/primary partition is only 64kb? Would that “fool” the Lead 2’s OS into accepting it (knowing that the remaining capacity would not be directly usable)?

Re: Expansion card for nord lead 2
Sorry, what I wrote is confusinig. I can use the larger SRAM cards but I won't be able to use all the storage on the card. Even If they made 2 GB SRAM cards, I'll only be able to use 64kb.
Re: Expansion card for nord lead 2
Sorry to dig up an old thread but did you have much luck with this card tjgoa?

Re: Expansion card for nord lead 2
AFAIK, they are fairly well extinct already. They rarely appear on ebay and then for high prices. Perhaps flea market computer vendor may have one hiding in a bin for reasonable price...

Re: Expansion card for nord lead 2
Hi Ogion, Klaus Ehrmann of Memorix (Clavia's original supplier of PCMCIA SRAM cards) was still in business as of end of 2019 and selling 256k cards at 75 Euro. He is contactable at <memorix@t-online.de>.
I also still have a 256k card from my old Nord Rack 2, message me if you're interested (it'll save me having to put it on Ebay).
Whatever you do, don't waste your money on a PCMCIA adapter for Compact Flash cards. Not only is finding a Compact Flash card under 16 MB near impossible, once you have it all ready to go, the little red box won't format them. Best of luck.
