My 5d has a major crash last night trying to to a live podcast. I was unable to reboot it, and as a result, I had to play an entire set with one crappy sound. I tried three times and got nowhere. Strangely, I was able to get it going after we were done but I don’t know what triggered the crash.
Is there and trick to a fast reboot, and does anyone know what could’ve happened? I’m guessing I probably need to take it in somewhere to get looked at, but not an option right now obviously.
The rig was on for quite awhile with sound check and the first show. There may have been a surge as there were some other smaller anomalies with the other guys equipment. (Stuff was turned off on it’s own etc..)
Needless to say it was pretty embarrassing. I’ll probably end up in one of those epic fail videos.

Re: Crash During Show
Hi, I think the only way is to switch off and on again.
What were the features of the crash?
Is the mains supply stable where you are?

Re: Crash During Show
I hope you get the source of the crash sorted out Berad. If you don't mind my asking, what patch did you have to play with for the entire show? If I had my favorite EP, or even a decent AP I could likely do an entire show with that. A Piccolo patch? That would be sadly comical.

Re: Crash During Show
It was stuck on a bass sample which sounded like a cheap electric piano. I tried rebooting and ended win with a vox organ. Sounded better so I could at least try and play competently, but the bass was just organ and not cutting through. It was comical looking back, but at the time it felt like the train left the station and my tie got caught in the door and rode to the next stop flailing against the wind and bouncing off the train.
I would have given my right arm to access a decent Rhodes or Wurli. I could have do just fine with that.
