Sample editor 3 questions
Hi,
when I import a wav file into SE3 I experience a few problems after transferring to my ord stage 3:
- the assigning of the wav to note doesnt seem to fit the keyboard. For example i hit C2, it ascends to B2 but when i hit C1, i hear C2 again. My wav file exists of about 8 notes with 3 or 5 semitones in between.
- the sample doesnt keep playing as long as i hit the note. After a second or two the sound disapears, even when i set decay to sustain
Probably i'm doing something wrong, but i don't know what. There are not very much good tutorials on the internet of het SE3. Therefore i ask your help.
thanks in advance foor thinking with me!

Re: Sample editor 3 questions
Hi,
can you share a screenshot of the SE3 windows to see what it does with your wav file? You may have to manually re-arrange the notes to get them in the right order, that's what I found out when using it.
For your second question: you have to create a proper loop in SE3 for each of the notes to make it sound as long as you press the key. After you have arranged the notes to the correct keys you select the first note, select "Looped" in the are right above the keyboard and then set the loop start and stop marker accordingly to have a good sounding loop. YOu can listen to this by clicking on the button below "Audition" in the top right area above the waveform display. If you can't hear anything make sure you have chosen the correct playback device by clicking "Config" in the menu are at the very top and then slecting the palyback device in the window which pos up.

Here is a screendump.
I find the looping with the edotir very annoying. I can't make loops that sound good.
When I look at this tutorial it seems that the looping is done automatically. I find the looping with the edotir very annoying. I can't make loops that sound good.

Re: Sample editor 3 questions
Can you send me the wave file so I can have a look and check the problem with the wrong note assignments? Please also let me know in detail which notes have been sampled in the wave file, I will try to find the problem and let you know how to deal with it.
Regarding loop: the loop section in SE3 seems to be very much automated, I prefer using SE2 which (for me) offers more manual options to optimize the loops

Re: Sample editor 3 questions
Is there any way to get a smooth loop???Schorsch wrote:Regarding loop: the loop section in SE3 seems to be very much automated, I prefer using SE2 which (for me) offers more manual options to optimize the loops
For me, the loop is pretty much unusable... anyone having the same problem?
EDIT... it takes some time finding the perfect loop length - most values are gone, so the markers are the only way.
I wish the window was resizable and not stuck to that rather small size...
EDIT 25-04-2020 ... Looping "difficulties" are totally on me... I simply didn't know that the markers have to be set to a cross of the zero-line and the waveform... now everything sounds perfect !
But all in all it’s very very nice to see this new version also for all “old” Nords
Stage 2 (and 2EX) is still going strong

Re: Sample editor 3 questions
Hello everybody! instead of creating a new thread I decided to put my question here, as the title of this thread suits to my request. Does anyone know if projects created with the previous version of SE can be opened and edited with the new one? thanks in advance.

Re: Sample editor 3 questions
You didn't mention that SE 3 now is out for Stage 2/2EX, Electro 3/4/5 and Piano 2/3! There were so many complaints that they weren't supported - with NSE 3.10 it's there.
- Oh, it's already mentioned in another thread! Didn't see that.

Re: Sample editor 3 questions
Sorry, maybe I should have asked in that specific thread instead...anyway, I think this is something many other users would like to know as well. For all of us who have earlier models and decide to install the SE3, it will be disappointing not being able to edit older projects if needed.FZiegler wrote:You didn't mention that SE 3 now is out for Stage 2/2EX, Electro 3/4/5 and Piano 2/3!
