Pedal down volume issues on NS3

Postby whitenoise » 20 Jan 2020, 23:32

Hi Guys,

I've got a strange volume behavior when I play piano (Bright Grand). It sounds slightly louder if I press sustain pedal while pressing and holding chords in the middle of the keyboard. Sounds like the pedal down samples are slightly out of volume balance. I remember I had a similar issue on some of the early OS. But then it was fixed.

I reported the issue to Clavia. No feedback so far. Do they have any SLA? At least an auto-reply that the issue have been aknowledged and they gonna return back within a certain time.

Clavia Support had replied to me within reasonable time frame. I have discovered that the issue is caused by string resonance. I don't have issues if I switch it off. So the question is: does a real grand piano volume goes slightly up if you press sustain pedal?

When the pedal is down and a chord is pressed, the un-dampened strings resonate if other "harmonic notes" are played, so it is natural that the overall intensity of those harmonic frequencies increases (also on a real piano).
