Should I begin with a factory reset on a showroom model
I recently purchased a nord stage 3 and it was being used as a floor model in a music store. I am sure it was played and changed up by several people, so should I factory reset the sounds and start over?

Welcome to the forum!
It's really your choice: there's no harm in either keeping the current state of your new instrument, or overwriting with the factory restore. To hedge your bets (in case there was something non-factory lurking around that you liked), consider making a backup before restoring it. You can always flip-flop between them.

I would do the reset. Can't imagine there'd be any tweaks worth keeping, or how you'd go about finding them.

Just did a reset on a Nord Stage 3 - took me under 10 minutes total. I was surprised that it was so quick to do....

+1 on doing a backup followedy by a restore of Factory Presets; I would also check if the latest OS (firmware) has been installed and if not do the update.
Last not least, check all System, Sound and MIDI Parameters to ensure they are OK for you.

Absolutely. You would likely have people messing with the internal settings that have no idea what they're doing. I got my Electro 5 secondhand and it was stuck in rotary pedal hold mode. Half the onboard samples were missing, there were about 6-7 pianos.. it's just easier to revert than try and fix a bunch of little issues
