Nord Electro 6D 61 + 88 key midi cont -> full piano in use?
Would I have full 88-key piano with Nord's sounds in use if I use 88-key midi controller to control 61-key Nord Electro 6D or is it somehow limited to be only 61-key piano as the Electro itself?

No there is no such limit. You can connect an 88 key midi controller to the Nord Electro and use the full range of 88 keys with the sounds of the Electro

You could do this but it seems like a huge waste of what the electro is built for (portability and ease of use). I believe you can just as easily throw a 2 octave range controller on top of the electro itself to get full range with less of a hassle.
1. Plug midi controller in
2. Set Midi send and receive to same channels (make sure global midi is a different channel)
3. Split the keyboard and activate external keyboard to low section. (Now your Nord Keybed will be the upper section and controller will be low).
4. Set the octave on your midi controller to the lowest range. Set the Nord to the highest range
5. Make sure your patches are activated on both upper and lower splits (both lights are lit).
Also - The electro accepts pitch bend from external controllers, but only for the split that it's assigned to (which can only be the lower register on the electro). It doesn't accept mod wheel control.

Re: Nord Electro 6D 61 + 88 key midi cont -> full piano in u
Okay, I bought Nord Electro 6D 61. I managed to connect it so that I can play its piano with external 88 key controller. But there is a problem. Couple of notes from the upper section are muted as well as couple of notes from the lower section of the 88 key controller. Total 15 notes aren't playing. Seems to be like 88-15=73... Should I map notes/samples somehow with Nord Sample editor?

Re: Nord Electro 6D 61 + 88 key midi cont -> full piano in u
Hmm - could it be that the Electro 6 does support a note range of 73 only because 73 keys is the largest keybed available with the Electro?
I would expect that all Nords which offer a piano section support the 88 range via midi even if the built-in keybed is less, which is what my Stage 3 compact does. I can’t believe that Nord limits this to 73 notes on the Electro which would be quite bad limitation.
P.S: crossed the previous post - good to read that it’s working now

Good to hear that it works. I've been playing the NE6 from my VPC1 since buying it in January without any problems... but some sample sounds (.nsmp, not .npno sounds) have limited range.
