Hi everyone,
Just trying to get an understanding of the Stage 3's synthesizer section, as it is laid out a little differently than a traditional analog synth.
I want to take two Saw wave oscillators, and detune one slightly. I select one Saw on Panel A, and a second identical Saw wave on Panel B.
Question #1: If I want to layer these two, I press both Panel "A" and "B" at the same time? Is this the correct way to layer on the Stage 3? Is there a better way? (It was different on my Electro 5, which had a split/layer button and a fade knob...)
My Question #2 is: I figured out how to detune one of the Saw waves, and I had the sound I was looking for. But, when I sweep the LP filter knob, only one of the panels is affected by the filter sweep. How can I sweep the filter on both panels at the same time?
Thanks in advance for any problem solving for a new user

Re: Stage 3 - De-tuning Two Saws and Filter Sweep...
#1 yes, that is one way to do it ( you can also mix two Osc in one Panel - see Manual for the synth)
#2 put the Filter of Panel A and B to the swell pedal or the ModWheel. Thats the way you do it (Morph assign)

Thank you. I will look into the manual on mixing two oscs in one panel...I didn't see that for some reason?
(Adding filter sweeps to a mod wheel or swell panel will not be suitable for me - I want to have traditional controls available (Ie - mod wheel for modulation, and swell pedal for volume)
I will look into mixing oscillators in one panel - thank you!

The only oscillator mixing I could see was sub, bell, white noise, etc....
(Is there a way to mix two Sawtooth waveforms? I don't want them an octave apart...)

Oh - I now read about dual osc configurations in the manual, with one called "detune". That looks good....will try it out tomorrow in the store☺

Re: Stage 3 - De-tuning Two Saws and Filter Sweep...
(I thought perhaps using the LP Filter in the AMP SIM/EQ section would work, but no....it focuses on Panel A and Panel B separately as well, not on both at the same time.)

Re: Stage 3 - De-tuning Two Saws and Filter Sweep...
another strange behavior (at least to me) is when you init a synth on a single saw and play it with a hold pedal ou increase release on a way that you merge played note with the new one, the sound because "phased".
Is this normal? I meant, shouldn't be right?

You're playing two or more of the same notes, which is why it sounds "phased". Unlike the organ, that only allows one of each note to sound at the same time, the synth and the piano allow you to trigger multiple of the same notes -- at least as far as I can tell.
I think this is by design. In mono mode, it doesn't do this, of course.

Yes, if you layer oscillators, they will phase.

But is this a normal behavior?
I meant, any synth that I have do this, at least that I notice that.
