Do we know for a fact that Kawai was the OEM source for Kronos's keybed? They're not actually styled/spelled the same: RH-3 vs. RHIII...

As far as I know, they're different actions from different manufacturers. Nothing to do with each other except similar names.

It’s the tweaked version of the action in the well regarded Kawai VPC1...
Using: RD-2000, Logic Pro X, Omnisphere, Keyscape, Komplete 10, CFX Lite, Arturia V, u-he Diva

Sold: Kronos 88, Motif XS8, Motif ES8, Motif 8, KX88, TX802, Oberheim: Modular 8 Voice, OBXa, OB8, KX88, Korg: T3, MS20, Prophet 5, Roland D50, Rhodes Stage 73

Not at all, as discussed previously it is most likely derived from the keybed of the MP7 (RH III while the VPC1 uses the RM3).

Right, and you wouldn't expect it to be the VPC action, as that model weighs 65 lbs with very little electronics in it. It is based on the Kawai RHIII. (And not the Korg RH3.)

My bad... Kawai likes to use very similar naming conventions
VPC1 = RM3II
Nord = RHIII
Using: RD-2000, Logic Pro X, Omnisphere, Keyscape, Komplete 10, CFX Lite, Arturia V, u-he Diva

Sold: Kronos 88, Motif XS8, Motif ES8, Motif 8, KX88, TX802, Oberheim: Modular 8 Voice, OBXa, OB8, KX88, Korg: T3, MS20, Prophet 5, Roland D50, Rhodes Stage 73

NORD GRAND Action:
I have a KAWAI MP7se brand new in the box sitting here. It is exactly 46lbs. The depth of the
NORD GRAND PIANO is 1 " deeper than the KAWAI MP7se. The "LENGTH" from left to right is 3" shorter.
The height of the "NG" is the same as the MP7se. I have owned the MP11se and it is another 20lbs heavier.
NORD has made it clear that they are doing some tweek to the triple sensor Kawai action. I wish they would tell us right?
I would like to see this action in lite, medium, heavy.

From owning 20 digital pianos I can tell you I hear about 28% more detail in the NORD sound. The 2 performance demos
listed so far exhibit pianists relaxing and playing this like a piano and NOT a keyboard. There is a big difference. It is also
important what speaker system your playing this back thru on stage. The above DEMOS while recorded directly to DAW device
had to been amplified also. I did not see in ears nor POWERED Monitors in either demos.

NORD your on to something strong here. What I have learned from exhuberance and anticipation is "try before you buy".....

Are you sure? I think it is closer to 29%, at least 28.79% ...

I went to a Kawai store today and played the RHIII...

And, I was not sure if I liked it or I disliked it.

It was sort of hard to tell because I was listening to a Kawai sample and not a Nord. The action was fast and somewhat light, but it also was a little bit springy. In an artificial kind of way; sort of. Does your MP7SE feel that same way too +PianistDallas+?

I can see how this action would allow jazz players to scream on it since it did bounce back quickly. But that is not the way a true grand responds. Maybe it should really be called the Nord Performer and not the NG?

If you have an RHIII action let us know your thoughts. :)

Or better yet if you have the time and it is convenient, go play an RHIII and report back your thoughts, please. I am torn on its feel. At least for me and my abilities to play it like it is a grand piano.
Nord Grand (Yes, I would buy a new one if it was stolen!), Kawai MP11-v1 (Bye Bye!), iMac 2017, Yamaha HS8's, Sennheiser 650, Focusrite 2i4, Pianoteq 6.4.0, Steinway Model A, Mason and Hamlin Model AA, Piano Marvel: 3C
