Re: Which headphones do you use
Sony MDR-7506 at $116 Amazon are a definite possibility. What about
SHURE SE 215 ear monitor plugs????
I’m looking to hear my sounds while keeping the room quiet, which obviously closed headphones do, however, if the shure ear monitors will do this fairly well, then this would be a more practical investment for me. I realize it won’t be studio quality but as I stated, I don’t need for tweaking sound, just play-practice when I can’t sleep.
Does anyone use Shure ear monitors as just earplugs with their NOrd?

Re: Which headphones do you use
Answering my own question, I’m not sure about the Shure 215, reading that they are hard fitting and not comfortable, that’s no fun. It’s late at night and need something easy and quiet to slip on.
The bluetooth Bose over the ear headphones I used previously (and sold), worked almost perfectly as far as sound, even though they sweat after long periods- in short, I’m leaning to buy the new model, they’re small, fold nice, and can double for walk abouts. I was amazed my new wired earplugs from Bose didn’t pick up my synth horn sounds, while the old bluetooths (wired) did.

Re: Which headphones do you use
I personally like the MDR-V6s over the 7506 https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/ ... _BwE&smp=y
Headphones will sound better than IEMs, unless you get custom molded and spend $$$$. They simply don't have the physical space to move large volumes of air (so if you don't have a really good fit they are going to rapidly lose bass response).
Headphones will also be more comfortable over an extended period of time.

Excellent- I’m willing to try the mdr-v6 for just under $80. Thanks.

Re: Which headphones do you use
The 215 are ok and much better than average earplugs. Depending on the actual plug you use, they can be very easy to fit. Soundwise the 415 are better, but also more expensive. I have both and use the 415 live and sometimes the 215 at home.MEL868 wrote:Answering my own question, I’m not sure about the Shure 215, reading that they are hard fitting and not comfortable, that’s no fun. Re: Which headphones do you use
If you wear the headphones a lot, you will end up needing to replace the ear cushions.MEL868 wrote:Excellent- I’m willing to try the mdr-v6 for just under $80. Thanks.
I'd highly recommend getting covers at the same time you buy the headphones, they add to the comfort and help keep the cushion from deteriorating.

Re: Which headphones do you use
I splurged and went for the Bose QuietComfort 35 II Noise Cancelling Smart (Bluetooth) headphones. I had to get on a plane and no more sacrificing some weird person next to me trying to talk, rather the bliss of my own music in my ears. They’re wonderful, so I factor in that I don’t need studio rendition from playing my Nord in the wee hours of the night to ward off insomnia, I just need good sound, and these work fine for that. Noise cancelling is also handy when you’d rather be surfing than watching tv, so win win so far with these headphones, unorthodox but works fine for me.
