Hi!
When I played another synth from my Nord Stage2 via Midi - the Sustain Pedal (located on the Nord Stage) is only Sending Value 85 instead of 127. Now the Sounds from the other Synth do not have a real sustain effect - only a short one.
What´s the problem there?!?!?!
I use a normal Sustain Pedal.

Re: Sustain Pedal is sending only Value 85 via Midi
Hi organisch,
thats correct. Clavia has "its own" system for implementing Sustain, Half Pedalling and Pedal Noise. It is not compatible with other systems.
However, regarding the simple sustain function, they are within the midi specs, which say that cc64 greater or equal 65 should be interpreted as "sustain ON". If NS2 is receiving either value 65, 85 or 127, sustain will be "On".
The problem seems to be on your receiving synth, which does not interpret the incoming CC correctly.
cheers, Bernard

Hi, thanks for your answer. My second key for local gigs is a Yamaha Tyros4. And the Tyros does interpret the incoming cc from the sustain pedal correctly - thats the problem.Bernard wrote:Hi organisch,

What can i do?

Probably bast to ask some fellow Tyros users. In their MIDI Data Manual there is nothing about the Sustain values.
If you have both keyboard MIDIed up IN<->OUT and OUT<->IN, you could try to connect the pedal on the Tyros and play the NS thru it.
Or use a MIDI manipulating small little box like this one:

The answer from Nord Keyboards is: in my Case (and in any other Case if the second keyboard has Half Damper too) it works only with the 199€ Nord Pedal.
