Midi Quest 12
Sound quest Music Software updated Midi quest to ver 12 and added 100 inst:
http://www.squest.com/Products/MidiQuest12/Upgrade.html
i was trying the demo last night for my nord lead 4 and i didn't succeed to dump the sysx files from the nl4 to midi quest pro 12 demo.
i got this instructions from Sound quest Music Software and the nl4 manual :
"Clavia Nord Lead 4
Receiving SysEx
Clavia does not provide any SysEx documentation for the Nord Lead 4 so it is not possible for Midi Quest to automatically request SysEx from the instrument (as it does for most other instruments).
To receive SysEx from the Nord Lead 4 do the following:
1/ Open Preferences
2/ Go to the “Studio” tab and ensure that “Receive manual bulk dumps and create new SysEx” is checked.
3/ Press Ok to close Preferences
4/ Go to the Nord Lead 4 and manually dump the SysEx from the unit.
When Midi Quest collects the SysEx, it will automatically create a new Set and load the SysEx into the Set for display. For the process above to operate properly, you should NOT press the Get button.
If you have some sway with Clavia and can convince them to release SysEx information for the Nord Lead 4, Sound Quest will be able to provide substantially enhanced support for this instrument."
from nl4 manual :
https://www.nordkeyboards.com/sites/def ... on%20H.pdf
page 44 :
7 - Dump One
Dump One makes a MIDI System Exclusive transmission of all the
parameters of the currently active Program or Performance. Press
Execute to begin the transmission.
8 - Dump Program Bank
Dump Program Bank makes a MIDI System Exclusive transmission of
all the parameters, for all of the 99 Programs or Performances in the
current Bank. Press Execute to begin the transmission.
In the MIDI chapter on page 47, there is a description on how the
Nord Lead 4 receives a Sys Ex dump.
1 - MIDI Interface
Use this setting to choose if you want to use the MIDI interface on the
DIN connectors or the USB-MIDI functionality.
Range: P - 5-PIN DIN MIDI ports, U - USB-MIDI (default) "
Any ideas what i am doing wrong ?

Re: Midi Quest 12
You have reported Midiquest instructions and the NL4 manual, but what are you actually doing with that is not mentioned.
Tyou need to tell more about your setup: on what computer (or iPad?) are you running Midiquest, how is it connected to the NL4,; then you should list all the steps, on both the NL4 and Midiquest, that you are taking adn any message displayed on both...
Otherwise it is impossible to help you.

Re: Midi Quest 12
If you are doing all suggested and when you launch the dump (single I presume) from NL4 nothing happens in the Program, could be a problem of the Midi Quest app (did you set up its MIDI IN and OUT ports too, to use the NL4 USB MIDI ports?)
To check if this is the case, try a different librarian such as the free Sysex Librarian from Snoize https://www.snoize.com/SysExLibrarian (I used it with various synths and works just fine)

Re: Midi Quest 12
The NL4 manual says
7 - Dump Program
Dump One makes a MIDI System Exclusive transmission of all the parameters of the currently active Program or Performance.
Press Execute to begin the transmission.
and Perform/Execute requires no shift, Store does (which is why it is in red as the shift); so only press that button alone, no shift.
PS:I don't own a NL4 so I cannot test

Re: Midi Quest 12
So you went into MIDI Menu, then to Program Dump item, then pressed Perform/Execute and nothing happened?
Have you tried Sysex Librarian too? Also, use a MIDI Monitor and see if you get at least the Note messages (and what do you get when you perform the Sysex dump request)

Re: Midi Quest 12
"So you went into MIDI Menu, then to Program Dump item"
don't know what is Dump item. i went shift+midi than i moved with program change knob to:"A, b, c, d - Slot Channel
These are the MIDI channels that can be set to allow the individual Slot
to receive events. Please note that a Slot does not have to be active, to
receive events. If incoming MIDI matches a Slot Channel, that slot will
respond to the incoming MIDI."
than i pressed execute , nothing happen.
i switch to global midi from off to 1 than i saw on the midi quest monitor some events but no sysx.
i tried sysx libarian but nothing. i clicked record one than execute , nothing.
