Please refer to the Sample Editor as Sample Editor and The Sound Manager as Sound Manager. There is no such thing as a Nord Sound Editor.
I'm sorry for having to be like this, but it makes my brain hurt.
And as stated above, you can't edit nsmp's directly. You would have to resample them to edit them.

Not directly, but there is a workaround. You can record in
.wav the Nord sounds you want to modify, and then edit them to your tastes with the Nord Sample Editor.
A bit convoluted maybe (and results will of course depend on the quality of your audio path), but possible!

Yes, now you’ve got it.
If you wish to edit an .nsmp or .nsmp3 that someone else has created, you will need the original Sound Editor project file. You can’t reverse engineer from the resulting Nord sample file.
