Hello there,
I have recently purchased a Nord Drum 2 and love it so far. I am sequencing it with an Elektron Octatrack and would like to know if there is a way of switching banks using the Octatrack. The normal bank change setting on the Octatrack does not seem to do the trick. The program change works but is only limited to Bank 1 on the Nord Drum 2.
Thanks
Korhan

Re: Changing banks on ND2 using Octatrack
Hi Korhan,
I don't know if it's possible to send pairs of LSB and MSB (Least Significant, and Most Significant Byte) control changes (CC's) with the Octatrack, bank select requires a combination of CC's 0 (MSB) and 32 (LSB), transmit the LSB value first, then the MSB value.
Hope this helps,
Albert

Re: Changing banks on ND2 using Octatrack
Hi Albert,
Thank you for the reply. I knew that actually, but I wanted to ask anyway in case someone figured a way of achieving this. The bank change implementation of the MIDI protocol is unfortunately bad - what synth would have so many banks?! Once I am over with one of the craziest Januaries of my musical life (only 5 real free days) , I'll try sending bank messages using Octatrack's sequencer and will report back here.
And in any case, I can definitely live with storing the most important kits in the first 50 slots.
Thanks again and happy new year

Re: Changing banks on ND2 using Octatrack
I encountered this while sequencing Yamaha gear with OT. Use two CC's on OT configurable CC page and set them to MSB and LSB.
I can't test this since I have ND1, but it works fine for all my other Yamaha and EMU gear.
