NL3 LFO /Arp Sync - issues?

Post by 23skidoo »

Hello,

I was reading this review of the Nord Lead 3 referencing OS version 1.20 (the last released OS) (http://jexus.id.uw.edu.pl/syntezatory_p ... lead_3.htm) and it mentions that the LFOs cannot be synched to the incoming MIDI clock - there's some sort of bug there.

Is this true? Does the arp also have problems with key retrigger and staying in sync? Would love to hear from someone who's got firsthand experience of this model, because the manual and marketing material suggest otherwise.

I'm considering buying one of these fine beasts, but now I'm having second thoughts - arp/lfo syncing is a big thing for me.

Thanks!

Unfortunately it's true. Stand alone there are no issues but it isn't possible to get it to sync. If you downgrade to OS 1.08 LFO and ARP sync fine to MIDI clock. You lose all of the advanced options of the arp though.

Wow, that's beyond awful. What else do you lose going to 1.08, anything meaningful? The arp stuff was nice, but I could live without it I guess, Arp sync and LFO sync are far more important to me.

*Edit: Ah, damn. You lose program categories too. And you can only run the updater on ancient versions of Windows. Ok, that's a big nope.
