OK. I downloaded the new enhanced electric pianos and loaded the XL version into my Piano 3. Um. I hear no difference from the original Nefertiti sample. Without the new filters (which the Piano 3 can not download) there is no benefit - at least as I can tell. What am I missing?
How about a software update so that we Piano 3 owners can have seamless transitions. (Asking for the impossible?).

Re: Meh?
YMMV, of course. But there are some (in my opinion) substantial differences. The Nefertiti was already quite playable, and hasn't changed that much. Some of the other samples have changed much more, in particular the EP1 to EP4 that have gone from "just there" to "fun to play".
Some examples that I've noticed: The EP4 has a somewhat different velocity scaling. Many of the old EPs have a different bell attack characteristic. Release samples are much more consistent within the instruments and typically louder; the EP2 in particular sounds much different especially in the left hand range in this respect (and you can use the soft/long release to adjust the amount of release sample). There appear to be more velocity layers and probably also more individual key samples in some cases; this changes the sound of closely voiced chords and makes it a bit more "responsive" when playing. Some of these things will be MUCH more pronounced if you use the (plain old) EQ to emphasise e.g. the bell or the release.
Yes, they retain their previous overall characteristics, but are much more nuanced and refined and more carefully adjusted, with better bell and release samples. So what's not to like

Re: Meh?
Same here. I notice absolutely no difference in Nefertiti v5.5 to V6.0 on my Nord Piano 3. Waste of time to download... but v5.5 is still far better than the other rhodes Nord samples IMO
Any other opinions?

Re: Meh?
The difference is far less audible on the Nefertiti. But the rest of the samples have been brought up to, and beyond the richness and quality of EP8.

Re: Meh?
It's subtle, but it's there. You can hear the difference more clearly on better headphones or amplification, and without the new dyno filter. For example, EP1 has now become much more usable for me. And there's a lot more bark all around.
YMMV.

I think I have gear issues ....
