I have a NS3. Recently received notification from Nord about additional sample sounds via Nord email on Dec 10th 2018. Finally got around to listening to some of these cool samples. There is a new "Attack Pad Layer" that is 3.0 MB. I downloaded it to my Mac.
Then I proceeded to upgrade the NORD Sound Manager to the latest version 7.40v supporting these sampled sounds.
I launch the Nord Sound manager and hit the Samp Lib tab where all of the sampled sounds are listed. My board has used 476.MB in sample library with 2.7 MB free. So this new sample 3.0 MB above can't be downloaded because I have insufficient space.
So to get new sampled sounds on my board, what are my options?
Would I have to delete some pre factory samples that I am probably not going to use to create space for those I will use. I currently have 1-249 sample slots although some state the size in MB or KB but also say "unused" to the right of the top.
IF I delete a sample from this library is it gone forwever unless I reload the factory settings or find it on the original factory list.
Is there a way to add more memory to the unit such as done with my Kronos.
I could sure your the insight and help
Much appreciated.

Re: New NS3 sounds from Sample Library ; how to load
Hi Knuckles,
to free up some space for additional samples you have to delete some others from the NS3, of course preferably unused ones. There is no way to add additional memory to the board. You can save the samples you are going to delete by uploading them on your computer with Nord’s Sound Manager first.
It’s also possible to load individual samples or programs from the factory restore file which is available for download on Nord’s web page, but it’s a bit tricky since you have to rename the file extension of this file to .zip first and unpack it after that. You will then have the whole content available as individual files which can be loaded to the NS3
Best regards

Re: New NS3 sounds from Sample Library ; how to load
A few tips:
- View your current samples in organize mode to show open memory locations.
- Sort samples from largest to smallest and delete the ones you don't need starting with the largest so you're freeing up the most space without losing as many samples.
- Don't move the existing samples 1-249 around. Many programs you get on this site use those samples and are typically programmed pointing to the default memory location - it will save you a few headaches.
- Save all new samples to memory locations 250 and above. If you load a new program from this site, it will be immediately apparent if it's referencing a sample in 1-249 that you no longer have if the memory location is empty.
- If you post a program using a new sample, tell folks what sample you're using and a) provide a link to the sample if it's on this forum (retains recognition of who created/provided it and any associated discussion), or b) post the sample with information on the source if not on this forum.
I hope this helps - take care.

WItBBD thank you for the tips. very helpful. I didn't realize that you can add samples above 249. I guess it's related to the space of the total population of MB. thanks again.
