Hello to all at the Nord User Forum!
For using a weighted keybed while playing with the Stage 3 compact, I connect a Yamaha P-85 by MIDI so that the NS3 receives its signal as a MIDI input.
This works fine for my Stage 3 (and Electro 5).
The problem I am facing is the masterclock, which is send from the Yamaha to the NS3. Per default the Yamaha sends a 120 BPM signal. It can be changed in speed, but it is not as quick and easy done as in the NS3.
I would like the NS3 to ignore the MIDI masterclock, but the MIDI Tutorial of this Forum states, that while receiving a masterclock from an external device, this tempo is used instead of the internal tempo.
Is there an option to ignore the external MIDI masterclock and use the build in masterclock of the NS3?
Thank you in advance and best regards - Matthias

Re: Stage 3 - Ignoring masterclock from MIDI
No, there's no option to ignore clock in if it's present. You seem to have chosen the one Yamaha keyboard that cannot filter what it sends! You can get a MIDI filter like http://www.midisolutions.com/prodrte.htm or http://www.midisolutions.com/prodevp.htm which can then selectively disable the clock messages between the two units.
