ATH-R70X is available at around 300€ ($450 CAN) here in Germany, a lot for headphone just being used to practice without disturbing others... but maybe worth it if the sound is exceptionally good.

Looks like I have to go Musicstore in Germany and try all of these which have been mentioned ...

1990 here, 100 % happy with them.
If considering them, double-check that your source has enough power (if 600 ohms). I don't listen very loud - with the stage 2 output button to 11 the volume is just "uncomfortable" but doesn't rip my ears off.
And I was worried - all the way down to the ground

well, very expensive magnets. They have this dangerous-to-pacemakers warning label on the back.
(no they don't) :-)

I have the ATH-50 as closed one, but after a while, for, practicing and mixing, it gets tiring....I was talking about the Open one and people really hear what you play, the open one is not made to "not disturb others" but to give you a real open air feeling and listening experience....
Yes try them, I also use the Sony 7506 which is really like a surgery tool to,hear the details, but very harsh on the top high end on the long run....Great for hearing all the mistKes you missed through your monitor, then I have the ATH-50....
