Adjusting sweep usage of expression pedal?

Post by Saxobone »

Nord Electro 5 --- I use a Yamaha FC7 expression pedal with a physically deep sweep which is great for the B3 volume, but not for the clavinet's onboard Wah effect.
Is there a way I can adjust settings so that when I am on the clavinet program, most of the heel side of the pedal's sweep is ignored? So it is more like a cry baby (where the physical sweep length of the pedal is much smaller).
the reason that I am avoiding using an actual cry baby is because I have too many pedals already and I would have to switch it on instead of just hitting a button on the Nord to switch to Clav.

I was dealing with the same issue with the FC7 and no matter how much I fidgeted with the expression pedal gain settings, nothing shortened the sweep enough for my liking. So, I ditched the FC7 and went with a moog EP-3 and Viola! perfection. Enough sweep for organ volume as well.

using this enhancer you can adjust the sweep range as required, and you can use multiple units to control multiple effect parameters with a single pedal.

I got tired of the cables failing on the FC7, so I gave up the FC7 to try the Moog EP-3. Works great and the cable is a TRS separate cable that plugs into the pedal...tony
