BEST PA/AMP FOR NORD ELECTRO 3??
Hi there!
I've got a nord electro 3 and its great but the grand piano patches sounds crappy through keyboard amps. I've been recommended to get a portable PA speaker instead...thoughts? What do you recommend? I'm asking specifically regarding the piano patch. The amp/PA would be for jazz quartet gigs, rehearsals etc...
Thanks,
Jay

Welcome to the nord communnity, jayverma. I have an electro6 and use an Aspen Pittman made Centerpoint Spacestation v.3. ..good demo/specs etc on youtube
I'm happy for several reasons... 1. lightweight at 10 kg 2. power to weight ratio is very good 3. clarity especially with stereo effects 4. omni stereo sound through the clever design of a side speaker. I previously used a mono keyboard amp and it always sounded muddy. 5. easy setup and only 4 dials to worry about
It easily satifies me in small to mid size venues
There are many others on this forum more experienced than me with amplification, who will perhaps suggest other options to consider.
regards, Allan

Re: BEST PA/AMP FOR NORD ELECTRO 3??
Hi, welcome to the forum. Most of this is discussed in the "Accessories and Amplification" section of the forum, where you'll find many, many threads on this topic.
To better help you narrow down your options, the more you can share about the kind of music you play, your gigging situation, your goals and priorities and -- finally -- budget -- the better! Since everyone's situation can be different, it's best to get into specifics sooner than later.
If I were to offer a suggestion off the top of my head (APs sound great, portable self-powered PA stereo pair, great bang-for-buck, flexible uses, lightweight, etc.) I'm now steering people to a pair of QSC K8.2s.
The CPS SSv3 mentioned above (which I also own) is a great amp for smaller gigs where adequate (not stellar) AP sounds are acceptable, and portability is your top priority.

Thank you for the advice and warm welcome! That actually sounds like a possibility, I can't seem to find it online - do you have any links?AllanH wrote:Welcome to the nord communnity, jayverma. Welcome jayverma, I moved the topic here.
Please do not keep opening new posts on the same subject.
Also, as advised, please read the many threads here, this subject has been discussed many times and lots of good information is already available.

Re: BEST PA/AMP FOR NORD ELECTRO 3??
Things to think about: Budget constraint? Weight constraint? Need for stereo vs mono?
Then review the thread at nord-stage-forum-f3/speaker-for-realist ... 14498.html

Seconded. As a matter of fact, I'd be willing to write a FAQ on this topic if needed.Rusty Mike wrote:I think we need a sticky for this topic.
