Vox organ sound (harmonics problem)

Postby Ben501 » 05 Nov 2018, 22:31

I purchased a NE6D 73 and I’m in love with it, having said that I created a split sound using an Ep sound on the lower register and vox organ on the higher register (the doors sound). The first couple of minutes everything sounds perfect but after a while the G and A keys start to sound different. They sound dull, there are some overtones that I can hear on the rest of the organ sound but not in these specific keys. I sent an email to Nord’s customer support but definitely something is not right and another thing is that when the keyboard arrived and took it out of the box I could hear something loose or broken inside. Does anybody else have a similar problem?

PD
I installed the latest OS

Hi Ben501, Welcome to the forum.
Can you post a short mp3 so people can have a better idea of what is going on?

Thanks for welcome me, I'm glad to finally be part of the Nord community.
Now to the subject at hand, the drawbar setting I'm using is 888006708
I hope I'm not loosing audition, today is behaving differently or I was tired yesterday. In the audio I'm playing G, A, B and C and I hear an overtone that belongs to the last drawbar on the keys A and B but is not present on G and C. I have no idea if that is a property of the organ sound or if is it a defect.

Would this be related to a problem I'm hearing with my A's on the Vox? Firstly, the A's seem to have less volume on the 2' and III drawbars than the adjacent notes do. But that's relatively minor (or possibly related?) compared to the effect of the ~ drawbar. The ~ drawbar on the adjacent notes brings out the sound loud and proud, while on the A, it seems to have very little effect.

By the way, I can confirm that this problem doesn't seem to occur when I first turn it on for the day, but rather some time later on.

Seems to me like the same problem but in a different key, but then again the first time I notice it was in a different key. Hopefully the next OS update will fix it like I was told by the Nord.
