Hello. I have no experience at all with the extern section of the NS3. On stage I use a NS3 and a Yamaha Motif XS6. Is it possible when you change the program in the NS3, the sounds in the Motif change with it?
For example: the first song we play I use program A1 on the NS3 and a pad sound on the Motif. The next song I use A2 on the NS3 and a string sound on the Motif. Now I manual change the program on the NS3 and then manual the sound on the Motif. This takes time. Is it possible to change the sound on the Motif in the moment you change the program on the NS3?

Re: Change sounds external keyboard with extern section
NS3 Extern Section parameters include the possibility to send Bank (MSB/LSB) and Program Change to the connected keyboard
Send On Load
Often it will be desirable to send certain MIDI data instantly when a program is loaded on the nord Stage 3. This allows for an external unit to switch program, or have a CC value reset synchronized with program changes on the nord Stage 3. There are individual settings - On or Off - for Program Change (PC), Volume (Vol) and user defined CC messages (UsrCC) accessible through the Send On Load page within the Extern menu.
(see NS3 manual Extern Section and Extern Menu chapters for more details....)
Warning: the Motif XS manages the Program Changes in different ways depending on its mode (Voice, Performance, Master,..) and switching modes requires SysEx messages which the NS3 cannot send

Re: Change sounds external keyboard with extern section
Hi matje,
that´s the way I change my sounds. I play with two NordStages (NS2+NS3) and three expanders. I just use the extern sections both Stages and need only to change the program in my NS3. That is the solution I don´t need my miditemp anymore.
Cheers
