Hi Venatt

You don´t HAVE to update yet.
OS 1.40 is quite stable and works well. The OSs later has different kinds of problems, MIDI-issues, voice stealing/polyphony-issue.
And off course there are many improvements in the new OSs as well.
But IMO the OS 1.40 is one of the most stable.

If everything works okay and you don't need the extra features from the updates, there is no reason to update.

Depends on your needs, MIDI, etc... But personaly, I wouldn't Update.
But hey, this is not an Apple product, Is not difficult to find the OS 1.40 out there. So you can just find it (a couple o people post it here in the forum) and download it.
Then update to 1.52, test it, if you don't like, downgrade again to 1.40.

Oops, I just updated it last night to the latest version 1.52 I should have read the comments first, it was actually very fast and easy.

What I'm kind of disappointed is the organ sounds, at least with the presets, I'm trying to think my Korg CX3 had betters sounds. I know I just haven't even scratched the surface, the overdrive is real good, but the leslie seems kind of crappy, it sounds even better on my Motif XF with the bender wheel.

The pianos is a different story, they're real good.

In the Sound menu, switch the Leslie micing to “Close”.

That should improve it considerably.

For my taste, the horn/rotor balance is a little too shrill; I gave the rotor 70% in that menu, but later reduced it to 60/40 at a gig where it seemed too whoomphy.

The Motif XS at any rate is a laughable organ simulation by comparison (is the XF a lot better?).
