Where does a program point to for samples/bad program sound

Postby Schorsch » 04 Nov 2018, 12:39

Hi,

I have a (maybe dumb) question: how are samples referenced in a program, is it by the number of the sample slot in the sample memory or is it by the sample name?

Best regards, Georg

By sample name, since the introduction of .nsmp v2 and related OS updates of all Nord keyboards that use them.

Hmm strange, thought so as well but ... I loaded some programs including related samples into my NS2 EX some time ago, and they worked just fine. In the meantime I habe loaded a number of other samples and at some point of time must have re-organized the samples in the sample memory or something, because the programs loaded some months before do not sound anymore like they should although the samples are available in the sample memory.

Could something be wrong with the NS2 EX, did someone experience similar issues like programs that suddenly do not sound anymore like they did before?
