Electro 5 - Left and Right Output volumes skewed

Post by pbinCA »

I have the Electro 5D, running OS v1.42.

I've noticed on any DAW software I use, the stereo L & R output line levels are consistently lower on the R.

I'm using the default output routing (System parameters) - the "stereo" output mapping.

I hooked up a voltmeter, and see this pattern, no matter which instrument voice chosen:
Left: 23 mV
Right: 17 mV

Using an acoustic dB meter and the same amplifier/speaker channel, the R channel comes in -4 dB low compared to the L. That's a pretty significant difference.

When I go into a recording session, I have to point out this defect in my Nord, have it compensated, and make sure L and R are never swapped by accident.

Are there any settings in the Nord synth controlling L / R stereo balance? Am I looking at a factory defect?
