Re: Which Electro
It seems odd Nord would cut back on the sonic accuracy of their newest Electro 6 B3 in view of the competitive nature of the many B3 clones.

Re: Which Electro
I don't think Nord tried to make it less accurate; i think the current organ engine is probably one of the best ones they've made (NE6 and NS3) -- it is just some of the options to tweak settings that has been removed. Of course, real B3's sound somewhat different, so what is "accurate" for some may not be for others, and that is where tweakability may come in.NE6DAMX1 wrote:It seems odd Nord would cut back on the sonic accuracy of their newest Electro 6 B3 in view of the competitive nature of the many B3 clones.
Nord is generally not about offering many options, but more of making sure that those you have all sound good

Re: Which Electro
I think it is less accurate... a real Leslie exhibits leakage noise even when you're not playing. Whether or not that's desirable is another question. But it is an example of greater fidelity to the original on the 5 than on the NS3 (or 6, based on this thread, though I haven't played one personally). Similarly, the "robbing" of the high drawbar for percussion on the 5 is more authentic.
ETA: actually, on the drawbar robbing, I know they have removed the parameter to turn it on or off, but I don't know whether that means it is permanently on (which would be more authentic) or permanently off.

Re: Which Electro
So sad, i almost bought NE6D when discovered that not only "Drawbar 9 cancel" was removed, but all percussion settings too! So, according to NE6 Manual, you now can't modify Normal and Soft percussion levels, and decay too..
While "seamless transition" is huge improvement for organ players who switch presets during performance, the lack of all those settings is so disappointing

If it's any consolation, you can't modify any of those things on a real B3 either.Relhby wrote:you now can't modify Normal and Soft percussion levels, and decay too..

but imagine that some B3 model had that, and newer one had not. That would be a downshift

If the software on the Stage 2EX is an indicator, the drawbar is permanently enabled. No stealing.anotherscott wrote: ETA: actually, on the drawbar robbing, I know they have removed the parameter to turn it on or off, but I don't know whether that means it is permanently on (which would be more authentic) or permanently off.

Re: Which Electro
Hello. I own a NE6 73 key and it is the best purchase that i have made. I was tolling between the 6D and the 5D but the only real difference between them are seamless transitions, newer and better sample format, 3 part multi-timbral insted of just 2 and the music stand.
Overall not a huge difference but what really sold it for me was the seamless transitions and the 3 part multi-timbral functionality.
I hope this helps!
