Any Nord Lead 3 experts? Question re: performance weirdness
Hi all.
When I put my NL3 into Performance mode and build a performance, one cutoff knob seems to be affecting all voices.
On slot A I have my bass what I am trying to affect with the cutoff.
Slot B and C are not used, and turned to mute.
Slot D I have as my lead.
When I select my bass in slot A, so the green light next to the A under the screen blinks and tweak the cutoff frequency, the cutoff frequency of the slot A is effected as expected.
However, this is also applying the cutoff change to slot D, what I do not want.
Is there a menu somewhere to correct this?
I have read the manual extensively, but it's difficult as I don't exactly know what im looking for.
Any help appreciated.

Looks like a Midi Loop to me.
Most likely in a Performance all the Slots react to the same Midi Channel, so tweaking Slot A will send the data also to Slot D. Set Slot D to Midi Off.

Hi, no that cannot be. You simply hit the MIDI button and select the relevant channels for the retentive slots. I have slot A set to MIDI ch 1 and B set to 2 and so on through to slot D.
Also both sounds play totally independently of each other. My bassline playing different notes to my lead no problem.
Thanks for the reply though.

UPDATE:-
Got it, posting here in-case it helps anyone else out.
My NL3 was set to accept program change and controller messages. Haven't a clue why (I'm a musician not a MIDI geek :] ) just if your having this prob this is where you need to focus your energy on. I turned the lot off and now none of this weirdness is happening.
P121 in the manual if you need instruction.

Sort ofHanon_CTS wrote:So member WoutBlommers was correct?

Changing the Midi routing and stop receiving reacting to the data result in the same behavior. So does the setting: disabled send Midi controllers.
Still it is important to know Slot Midi channel settings may be different in Program mode and Performance mode: mostly they are...
Gladly the Lead3 doesn't have a Leftmost Slot priority like the Lead(1).
Anyway, next spring it will be 17 years ago the Lead was introduced (the oldest synth in the world still in production) and there is still confusion between (saved) Layers and Performance mode, because both use the same memory

Wout
(who is wondering if there will be a re-introduction of the dDrum concept next spring...)
