Nord Stage 3 Compact Side Panels?

Postby atucker78 » 07 Sep 2018, 03:33

Hi,

Today I purchased my very first Nord! Guitar Center and other retailers sadly did not have any unsealed keyboards shipping until next month, so I purchased a new floor model and got a nice 20% discount. The keyboard seems to function perfectly but has a small chip on the left side wooden panel of the keyboard. I looked on syntaur, but they don’t have panels for this specific model. Are there any other retailers that sell the side panels to replace my damaged one? Additionally, I still have time to return the keyboard after it ships to me. Am I better off just waiting for a brand new unsealed keyboard, or sticking with the floor model. Thanks!

I bought this Honda about 12 years back.. It was previously owned, had one dent in the side when I bought it. When I was done with it, it had dents and dings and rust, and was the best car I'd ever owned.. because I had so much fun with it throughout that time. Don't get caught up in cosmetics that you forget about what makes that keyboard so great. Just listen.

Thank you. I guess I was too concerned with everything being “perfect” but will have a lifetime of great music out of this keyboard and can’t wait to start playing. The chips will give it some character!

Yes, it plays better when it knows it's not there for the looks but it's the inside that matters :-)

Well, it's up to you to decide if a small cosmetic damage is worth 20% discount on the stage or if you would like to have a perfectly looking one - the latter may be reasonable if you want to put it in a showroom, but if your intention was to buy a very good sounding instrument you made a very good catch with a 20% discount just for the small chip .........

A small cosmetic chip in exchange for a 20% discount on the NS3? I'd take it.
Usually I can get 10-15% off of MAP by calling around, so I'd think of it as an extra 5-10%. Still worth it.
Go find a red sharpie if it really bothers you :)
I think I have gear issues ....

Well, if I think about how important a perfect looking keyboard is ... Consider how it could have changed the history of rock music if the organ of Jon the Lord hadn't been so much damaged ... Okay, seriously speaking, just play play play and rock your audience.

Yes, thank you. The chip will give it some character and even if I were to replace the panel down the road, I’d still be saving more with the 20% discount

Yes, don't bother, 20% is great and you already have it to play with instead of waiting for a new one that is not in stock yet....
