Hi all,
Not a discrete question about the NS3 but I'm sure someone will give good advice. I've connected 2 studio monitors to my NS3. What levels should I put them at? Example: NS3 on full volume and adjust speaker volumes? Or NS3 minimum volume and turn up speakers? NS3 and speakers all on middle volume etc? Any other ways? Thanks for your help.

Re: Speaker / NS3 levels
Put the NS3 at exactly 83% of max level and your speakers at any level you want...
... or, on a more serious level: You're interested in minimizing any noise and ensuring you don't introduce distortion while allowing for a reasonable control range on the potmeters.
hence, it is often a good idea to run at line level or close to on the wires, so I'd put the NS3 somewhere between 12 o'clock and maybe 4 o'clock, and the speakers at any reasonable level thereafter. If your speakers then are difficult to adjust (maybe the level between no sound at all and too loud is only a few degrees of twisting the knob), then lower the NS3 level. On the other hand, if your speakers are near the max range and maybe start to introduce too much noise, then increase the NS3 output.

Re: Speaker / NS3 levels
I always put all my stage or synths at Max, because I've been told In the unity gain lever, 0db, I adjust the level of my monitors and when I play with the reste of the band, I usually end up around 3pm.....So, different approach but same result....
ThAt said, I used to be at Max, So, when the guitarist is telling me that I'm too loud, I could ask him to decrease his volume first and then I have the range to do So....If I don't Start quite loud, I'm always lost un the mix....

Re: Speaker / NS3 levels
Having the studio monitors too 'hot' introduces noise so I also run my stuff dimed in order to dial back.
Easier to cut than add.Just ask a carpenter? "I cut this twice and it's still too short".
Also I find the transfer of sound from studio monitor to 'floor wedge'' live can be tricky.
I always make sure to mix my keys on studio monitors before I monkey with the live 'monitor mix'.
That way I ensure the outputs to any sound reinforcement/FOH are 'full bandwidth''.

Re: Speaker / NS3 levels
In live and rehearsal use, I've never been able to turn it up more than to about two o'clock before it starts clipping the inputs.
This thing is hot.
