Hi,
I've been advised to get a pair of Genelec 8010A for my nord lead a1 (and soon nord piano 3).
I'm planning to plug them straight to my nord lead a1 for the time being using 1/4 to xlr cables.
Oh and I'd like to have a good frequency response (think piano) at low volume as I'm not going to play loud music.
Would it be a good choice?

Re: Genelec 8010A ?
I can't comment on the Genelecs (3" woofer?), but if price signalling is anything to go by they must be good! In my studio I'm using a pair of JBL LSR305, with 5" woofers, and I find them great for synths. From my Electro, organ and EPs are spectacular and APs are fine. Plenty loud enough, and good at low volume.

Re: Genelec 8010A ?
thanks, I'll take a look at that model as well, but there is something pulling towards the genelec. I was thinking to either get the 8010A or 8020D as they're similar in price.
I'm going to take hold of the corner of a large living room, nla1 to the left of the corner and np3 to the right. Speakers are going to be on the floor at either sides of the keyboards. So I'll be sitting in the middle of a triangle so to speak.
Any suggestion is welcome!
P.s. the speakers expect balanced xlr inputs, presumably two mono 1/4 to xlr cables would suffice when connected to the nla1 despite the latter having unbalanced outputs?

Re: Genelec 8010A ?
I never plugged directly any instrument directly into the input of a pair of monitors but I've read here that they will need at least a mixer/Control room device to get full gain, the output of the NL might not be the right impedance and enough output to drive the speakers...But I have the 8040A and they are awesome....
