Quick question, have all np3 which were sent back for repair to the repair centers and had the felts swapped been fixed permanently?

I'm considering a second hand np3 (older model) which has previously been repaired and had its felts replaced by the repair centre.
being out of warranty I just wouldn't want to have the issue reappearing anytime soon :-)

alternatively I found a demo one at a shop nearby which is 10 months old (s/n in the 11900). Would it be safe to take it 200£ cheaper than new? I don't mind the light use, I it's the knocking noisy Keybed I'm worried about

The S/N is good I think and should have the thicker felt. Ex demo should be fine too. Is there any warranty on it? Whereabouts are you in the UK and what shop is it?

Thanks, how are you enjoying yours? What's the range of your serial num?

I've been told they had it on display for 10 months in the shop, very light use, ex-demo with full warranty as new. I suppose the question is whether I would be happy accepting a bit of wear and tear for a 12% discount. I know it doesn't make much sense but what bothers me is that the serial is relatively old

S/N is 12220 so a bit later I assume. What is the shop asking for it, if I may ask?

Hope everyone's doing well. Glad to hear this little DIY worked for some of you. I just wanted to update that I have yet to hear any knocking/banging noise from my Piano3 since the repair. :D

Hi there. I have a Nord Piano 2 with probably less than 40 hours total use - never gigged and I'm the original owner. I had the knocking sound and tried the felt solution. I thought I had it licked - it sounded fine when the top of the the piano wasn't secured, but once I tightened it all back up, the knocking sound continued in the C4 to C5 range (primarily the E4 and A4). This isn't me, but it's the same noise, a knocking sound on the key return in the same octave (

I did email Nord, but I didn't get any response at all. Does anyone have any other ideas for stopping this noise? I originally purchased this as a piano for gigging, I have another Yamaha Stage Piano (and a backup for that) for daily practice. I have owned a CP33 and have played it for four hours a day for 12 years and have had to replace the felt and one key on it, but it plays silently. Of course, the Nord sounds are far better, but the knocking sound drives me crazy and renders it useless.

Apologies if this is covered elsewhere on the forum (I did search before posting). Thanks for your time,

Brian
