Re: unable to store
I do that ALL the Time.... I don't want to get any surprise In doing wrong stuff so, I always read the manual from A to Z before even touching the instrument....Sometime it stays untouched for 2/3 days, and I imagine myself In front of it doing what the Manual says....So, it works well for me this way.....And it's always the printed Manual....

Re: unable to store
I always study the manual inside and out BEFORE purchasing an instrument.
Everything is available online nowadays and I find it inexcusable to spend so much money without getting as much info as possible beforehand.
Anyway, to be fair, the OP said he has an Electro 5.
I just checked the manuals online (ditto ) and, while on EVERY other Nord the need to turn off memory protection is always stated clearly multiple times, on the E5 manual, quite inexplicably, it is never mentioned except in the Menu section.
So I guess the OP can be excused after all

Re: unable to store
I also study it before. For me it's a) part of the decision process for which instrument to buy, and b) part of the why-isn't-it-here-yet-I-want-it-now process.
