unable to store

Post by fash4517 »

I've read the manual for my new electro5 over and over. I think I'm doing exactly what it says. But when I press the STORE button, it briefly shows a ! warning message: "memory protected". And that's it. I'm unable to store in programs or in set list.

Did you check the System Menu, option 1, Menory Protect?
Are you certain it’s disabled?

Thank you, PScooter63. I just got back to my keyboard and found that was the problem. I missed it in the manual because it appears in the Menu section, several pages after it gives instructions on how to store. Instructions for how to store just says press the store button with no mention of disabling memory protect.

RTFM ... that’s clearly written in the user manual of the Electro 5, please look at page 16 (Section 5. Menus): you chose System (pres Shift and System buttons), first option is Memory Protect. This is set to ON by default, you can change it to OFF by pressing Shift and turning the Menu Dial. At least that’s what the user manual is saying, I don’t have an NE5 to verify it

I guess companies could just as well quit printing manuals that nobody reads...

Usually it's possible to get quite far without reading the manual, but with Nords the manual should kinda be read all the way through before getting started.
