Hi,
I like big pad, deep atmosphere sound, and i noticed something interesting_unfortunately.
on synth, increasing attack on a pad is foing to decrease the polyphony.
Try it, easy. Take a nice soft pad, play a 8 notes chord repetitively with attack at 0. No problem.
Now, increase attack, you gona lost lots of notes. With 2 synth, 2 panels, it is worse...NOT KOOL
So if i want to play freely my own beautiful soundscape, i must ser the good attack before creating in sample editor.
If i give attack to my sound, polyphony is reduced a lot.

Re: attack lowers polyphony
What OS are you running?
Can you give us concrete attack and decay settings for the sound you play? Is it only when using a sample based sound?

Latest os.
I happens with sampled sounds or basic sounds, factory pad sound for example.
It happens on just one panel actually. Attack to 0 you have all the notes, you increase attack, lost notes.
I can show it with video if you want.

Re: attack lowers polyphony
Can it be that in either cases you lose the "old" notes when playing the new ones, the only difference being that with the fastest attack, you hear the new sound immediately, so it's less obvious that you lost the old ones? (Just thinking out loud here...)
Don't forget that 8 notes chords (if stereo) = 16 polyphony. The tail of it + the new 8 notes chords = 32. If you repeat the process a third time and that the release is long enough that the first chords is still playing, you're actually asking for 48 notes to be played simultaneously. Etc... Imagine having slot A and B together... it's all x2!
That's how you lose notes.
Old thread with sound example: nord-stage-forum-f3/slot-a-slot-b-issue-t13100.html
I don't know if that helps or if you encounter something else that what I describe here. My apologies then for not getting it right.

Re: attack lowers polyphony
May be you’re right Ludo, and the thing works like a pomp: ex 500 ms attack, 200 ms release, 2 synth pannel, play egb/degbd quickly, you lose notes. If you let the synth enough time to « recharge » his polyphony, it plays the 7 notes.
If you set the release to 0 now, it is better, but notes disappear yet.

Re: attack lowers polyphony
I think LudovicVDP is right, polyphony allocation logic is not supposed to be affected at all by the attack value, it is rather a matter of perception.

Thank you for conforming. What can we do for Nord to change this ? In the next os as you said Brane.
