Poll for NS3 Owners: Organ Key Click
What key click do you like on your Nord Stage 3? I've allowed people to select more than one, in case you routinely switch back and forth among different settings.

So I guess yours is set to Low? (There is no off/none setting.)
From what I understand, Laurens Hammond didn't like the key click in his design either, and he worked to try to reduce/eliminate it. Luckily for those of us who liked it, he never succeeded. It is now part of what makes something sound like a Hammond organ.

Actually, he did eventually mostly succeed. Those later organ models are the least desirable, lacklustre ones (like the L100).

Laurens Hammond also hated the Leslie effect.
He was a bit like the George Lucas of the organ world: he obviously had no understanding whatsoever of what made his creation magical and great, and spent most of his later career trying to ruin it completely.

Re: Poll for NS3 Owners: Organ Key Click
the keyclick-volume depends very much on what headphones/speakers you are using. on headphones, even 'low' is sometimes way too loud, on a real leslie you often could use more than just 'high'. So all in all, I would be happy to get more than 3 possibilities and I would kindly welcome a 'very low' setting for headphone-use

I also wish there were more settings. I'd like something higher than High.
I'm thinking of trying this experiment: Sample the lowest organ note with only the 16' drawbar out; EQ the sample to try to effectively eliminate all the tone of that low C (a narrow band parametric EQ would probably be best, since the tone is close to a simple sine wave), so that basically all that all that is left is the sound of the click. Then make a Synth sound out of that click sample, and layer it with the organ, and I could dial in whatever amount I want.

Re: Poll for NS3 Owners: Organ Key Click
This is exactly what I was thinking yesterday, well, not the way to do it but the option to have a knob to increase the key click at will, during a live performance, not only via sub menus...It could become a new feature to tweak your sound even if it doesn't exist on a real B3...A dedicated knob....Maybe in a future C3?

Having no access to the real thing, I'm curious: is the click a constant pitch across the keybed, or does it change character depending on that, and/or active drawbars?
(Another idea: Adobe Audition has a noise filter function, whereby it samples the "noise"... in this case, the 16' drone NOT including the click, and the app inverts its phase and applies it to the whole sample... WITH the click. Voila, click only. Maybe other apps do this?)
