Re: Nord Stage 3 Love
Id be interested to hear what areas you think the FA07 excedes the Nord? I currently have an FA07 which i dearly love, but thought about upgrading to a compact 3 at some point. However I use a Forte 7 on bottom tier at the moment and also a Virus Snow module, guess I pretty much have most bases covered but always looking for improvements.

Re: Nord Stage 3 Love
Bought a Stage 3 Compact a couple of days ago (my first Nord), it’s really great!
I’m using a RD800 and a Motif XF7 on top, the Motif is used primarily for organs and pads, while the Piano parts are played with the RD800. Thinking of replacing the Motif XF by the Nord Stage 3 Compact and keeping the RD800 (I’m coming from classic piano originally and love the RD keybed), will probably play a number of the Stage piano/e-piano sounds with it in future.

I just purchased the 88 key stage 3, and it will arrive next week. I am so excited to explore such a beautiful sounding instrument! It is my first Nord! I am replacing a Korg N1 and a couple of monosynths (0-coast, Behringer model D).

Re: Nord Stage 3 Love
+1 on this, indeed a great bit of kit.
I picked up a NS3 Compact a couple of days ago after a lot of reading up and having a couple of hours playing one in the store.
Though had been following for a few years it's my first Nord, the NS3 Compact won me over in a couple of ways - great sounds, very simple interface once you get a bit of time with it but beyond all, the combination of real drawbars, pitchbend/mod wheel and the waterfall action means it really is the perfect all rounder for me. Love being able to do synth leads, rock organ smears and a perfectly reasonable rock piano all in the same box.
Oh and it's so -light-

Re: Nord Stage 3 Love
I've been a Nord user for some time now and just got a Nord Stage 3 that I love for the additional features and new Synth section especially. As many posts here are from new owners, you might find some useful programs in the "Patches and Samples" Forum for Stage 3 Programs including the posts below. Take care

The Roland FA carries forward the incredibly flexible split/layer capability of the Roland XV (which I use with my Electro). The Roland XV/Fantom/FA allows 16 parts per performance, and even supports some crazy options that can take it further. Nord is never going to equal it. I will admit that the way I use splits on my Roland is not normal, and most people will probably find the Stage 3 meets their needs for splits.
