Strange problem with the sounds/programs in Nord Lead A1

Post by jonas_lindberg »

Hi!

I got my new Nord Lead A1 yesterday. After playing with the sounds for a while suddenly all programs (but not the performances) included a drum kick sound, which of course is really annoying.

I have tried to solve the problem by re-installing both the sound library and the OS and by initializing a few of the sounds, but nothing helps. Initializing only replaces the drum kick sound with another sound, but it is still omnipresent through the sound banks.

Does anyone know what should I do?

Hi, JL-

Do you have any midi sound modules connected to your computer?

You may be sending a signal to one of them.

Thanks for your reply, dj! No, no sound modules. Only a Mac with Logic Pro X, if that might be a reason.

Seems like you are triggering something in Logic, then ?
Try with midi and/or USB cable disconnected.
But even if you are not in perfomance mode, you can select one or all panels (A B C D), so check that only one panel are active.
Have you tried to listen to the synth only, eventually through some headphones?

Hej Bjørn! Thanks for your suggestions. Unfortunately it doesn't help to disconnect the USB cable and just listen to the synth by itself in headphones. As of now, all panels are active on each sound/program.

Hei Jonas. Then it are only a matter of unselecting the panels you dont want to hear. Hold them down, and release all exept one.

Check which midi channels the ABCD slots are receiving on, and what the master channel is, then check which midi channels you are sending on. Sounds like you have some overlap or are sending on the master channel. It might be a loopback problem.

Thanks to you both, Bjørn and L! First of all, there was nothing wrong with the midi channels. However, the solution was almost as simple as Bjørn suggested (sorry, I'm a real beginner at this machine!) in combination with releasing the split button, which I had accidentally managed to make universal somehow.

Anyway, now everything seems to work just the way it is supposed to. I’m really grateful for your help!
