Probably crazy I know, but.......how do you engage the Modulation Wheel, out of the box mine doesn't work/modulate, do you have to set it up?

Re: Mod wheel
The ModWheel is just a physical controller, what it modulates or not depends on the individual Program settings, particularly the Morph and/or the Synth’s. Read the manual about that, try it on different Programs...

Re: Mod wheel
Congrats on the new Stage 3. Look for the preset programs with “MW” in the name as they contain morphs for the Modulation Wheel.
Hers a link that shows you how to assign morphs of your own.

Re: Mod wheel
Also, if you want the wheel to simply give you vibrato on a synth sound, just hit the Vibrato button in the synth section until the lights indicate that you have selected WHL.
One thing that can be confusing if you're new, though, is that a Program may include a synth sound on Panel A and/or a synth sound on Panel B, and hitting this button will only affect the synth sound on the current (active-for-editing) panel. So if you hit the vibrato button and you're still hearing a synth sound that doesn't have vibrato on it, check the synth sound in the other panel.

Re: Mod wheel
You may have the dreaded; "Mod Wheel Not Connected" issue. When I received mine, out of box, the wire to the Mod Wheel was connected incorrectly. I opened the unit and removed the cable and put it on correctly. Also, make sure the wires are not loose or near the keyboard. I have had issues with Intermittent connection issues with the Mod Wheel. Do a search and you will see all the posts from last November on this issue.
Good luck
